Hey All!

Heading to Buena Vista for the weekend (Yay for duckies!), and I'm hoping some of you might know of an awesome camp spot for about 6 of us + dog. Something a little secluded that's maybe close to some good hikes (mix it up a bit), or is just overall a sweet spot that you'd recommend. Planning on doing a few different sections, so no matter about how far/near the river. Thanks in advance - Have it good!

Head up Chalk Creek Canyon, west, out of Nathrop. You can find Forest service campgrounds, free BLM camping (there use to be some spots right on the creek, just up from the cascades) and if you go up past St Elmo, you probably won't see too many people.
Pretend you are on the river, "Leave no trace"

I really dig Ruby Mtn. Although, NOT the actual campground. If you travel through the campground the road takes a little climb and you'll enter BLM land with tons of open space. There will be the occassional ATV roll through, but you can find plenty of spots kind of away from the access road. I was up there last weekend and I think we saw maybe two or three groups of 4x4's roll past the camp. Putting on the river at Ruby for Browns is pretty sweet too (rather than Fisherman's Bridge).

The hiking is pretty good, bouldering is fantastic. Not your traditional hop-on-a-trail style hiking, however. The view of the Collegiates is phenomenal.
