Especially when said guy does the same thing and then takes issue when others do it. That being said, I truly think what I did was in a different category. I've both received and given guidance to new river runners and have appreciated this give and take. I would hope that my fellow river peeps would point out to me if I was selling (or buying for that matter) something that wasn't going to perform in the way it was listed. Kind of like people have each other's back (I know...pretty novel concept around here sometimes). I even tried to do this backchannel. It didn't work.
But hey....there's definitely a trend on the buzz to just let people fend for themselves and a caveat emptor spirit. I don't agree with that and maybe that's just me. 🤷♂️ I'm truly grateful to those before me (and many who are still here) who have shared their sage advice and help me make my time on the river all the more enjoyable.
Thanks for helping a newbie like me out. I guess I just didn't know. I'm really fairly new to boating and boating equipment.
BTW, I didn't do the same thing. I bagged on an overpriced setup, which is a Mountainbuzz tradition. I was doing it here long before you bought your first mesh back PFD.
What you did was message me to condescend, and let me know "well actually..." and proceeded to quote Websters with the definition of water tight. The best part is I called you "Boulder" right off the bat and when you didn't argue I looked at your posts and yep, Boulder.
I also noticed you get permits and give them up a lot. I'll let someone else chime in on that etiquette, but if your beater ass can't even go boating when you win a permit, I'm guessing you're just another virtual boater.
Keep it watertight. I'll keep it wet.
