I bought my at4 about 1 month ago. I paddled a bunch of play and one creek in it; it has leaked and now has water in the shaft. I do not want to send it back because I will be without a paddle. I think the leak is in the middle so I am going to appoxy it and hopefully close it up better. What is the best way to get the little water still inside out, I am thinking of drilling a small hole which I can glue. Also is this a common problem in this paddle? Is there anything else I should do?

I cant tell you how many times I have seen someone break an AT paddle, usually in half. Bummer dude. You might want to give them a call before you start drillin. It would be intrusting to see how many other people have had the same experience with AT products. I know this dosnt help you much but Id say send that one in, get a new one and SELL IT.

a buddy of mine had an AT that leaked. he put it out in the sun and on the roof rack for a couple of days until it dried out. Then he put some epox and duct tape where the hole is. usually the leak is where the two shafts are put together.
if you think there is still warranty, send it back. then, buy yourself a non-AT paddle while you wait. and sell the repaired AT or keep it as a backup.

Hi Erik. You are going to void any warranty by drilling a hole into it, and may cause more problems. If you bought it in a store, I'd try taking it back and getting them to replace it with an identical paddle. Then they can send back the leaky one and get credit for it.

I've broken 2 and AT has been great about replacing them. I upgraded to an AT2, which has now lasted for at least 100 days of hard creek and play. Hope this helps.
