Does anyone have any info on the state of the Breckenridge play park?

I did some searching on the MountainBuzz search tab and it seems that the features are playable at 50 - 75 cfs and are at there prime around 100 cfs. I'v also found in my search that this play park is not held in high regard by locals.

I'm wondering why that is, and if its worth checking out?

I have lived in Breck for 10 years. I have Kayaked for 20. I am no playboater for sure but I have never even been on it.
I don't boat much these days but have paddled in all directions from Breck. NIMBY.

I talked with a play boater from Breckenridge. He said he never boats the breck play park because one of the streams that feeds that particular drainage carries significant concentrations of heavy metals from nearby mine tailings.

The wave below the outlets in silverthorne can be good though. Forget what flows it becomes relevant at though.

If the steam was a flow of tasty beer or even Bonnie Rottens squirt I still wouldn't go Well I might go but I would leave my boat home.

There re much much better features all around summit... There is the love wave that is right below the dam, the silverthorne town run, and the upper blue. And the gorey hole isn't too fr of a drive...

I would take the Breckenridge Play Park off your itinerary right now and go to some of the other great spots Summit has to offer ie Lower Blue, might check out Frisco's 10 Mile Creek feature. Call Matty at 10 Mile Creek Kayak and he will hook ya up on the beta for that play hole.

The Breck Park is something I wish they would make more appealing to boaters. Threw the years I've heard varying rumors about why that park never really happened, but it would be nice if they fixed it.

Live in Breck and used the ark once when it was new. Just isn't very good to narrow and short IMO. The town reportedly spent one mil on it and no politician ha s the stomach to spend more to fix it. When I want something short and easy with a walkable shuttle I put in across the street from Mattys and take out at the Marina in Frisco.
