WV boater here with the first week of July free for boating. Would a trip to co be good water level wise particularly with the poor snow this year?

Thx

I haven't been watching the snowpack stats but I can tell it is going to be a small year for my area (central mountains and front range). It is dry as a bone around the front range and I don't remember seeing so much dirt in the mountains this late in the winter in a long time. I'm looking forward to a super mellow season of Extremely Low Flow paddling, which usually translates to no brutal swims for me.

In short, no. July 1 in CO will probably mean dam release only (Gore, Bailey, Shoshone), perhaps Big South/lower Poudre at lowish flow. Go to Idaho, Washington, BC. Check out the snotel data for the West and you can guess where the rivers will still be running well mid-summer (Northern states).

Any other year and that is a great OBJ week. Hell, even the ark will be down to like 600cfs by then. Maybe next year would be better.
