On family vacation and staying in the Fort Thurs nite. Might have some time Thurs afternoon/evening to do some boating on he Poudre. Any boat rental available in the area? Easy to hook up with boaters?

Rocky Mountain Adventures (RMA) is you best bet for boat renta. I think they rent Jackson & Pryanha.

Easy to hook up with boaters. Throw a post on here or just show up at the Bridges takeout.

I demoed a boat from Poudre Canyon Kayaks in Poudre park. They're a small outfit but very knowledgeable and have a good selection of boats. When the owner is there helping you most of the time, it's a good place to go.

As far as getting with boaters, there's lots there but some may or may not be willing to paddle with you (see the Rafters V Kayakers thread to see which ones won't boat with you.. hehe). In all seriousness, your best bet is to ask at Poudre Canyon Kayaks and/or hang out at the take-out on the bridges run. Lots of boaters there doing laps or setting up shuttles.
