I have often wondered this myself... It would be great if they put it around Viestures (sp) Park, or maybe some where closer to Loveland ?
They put a park up in Estes park, on the St Vrain. Word from the local paddlers is that they should of put it on the Big T just below the dam in Estes Park.
I'm guessing the idea was to put the park in town like Golden had done, and the St Vrain was the only river running through town where they wanted the park. I think the Big T has better flows for a longer period of time. Also the story goes that the park is not built as well as the parks in Lyons, and Golden ?? Cant say, have not been on the Estes Park water park.
I don't think that a park could be built in Loveland, there are way to many diversions between the canyon and the town. When it was running last month at 340cfs I drove through loveland and it looked like less than 100cfs just west of town.
