Sooooo.... there I am yesterday at the Bailey put-in. It's raining and we are waiting for the shuttle to come back. We decided to take shelter under the trees located right next to the gate, only to be meet with the gross, gagging-reflex displeasure of staring at a pile of poop and some wet soggy toilet paper.

So, who the hell doesn't have the decency to DIG A HOLE?!?!?! Whoever did this has zero respect for this access spot! I have been to plenty of put-ins with no bathrooms and suddenly felt the urgency of having to drop a deuce, but NEVER have I not taken the time to dig a hole, bury it, then put a rock on it. Plus, there is a gas station about a mile away and is pretty easy to use.

I thought the Bailey put-in was a sensitive access spot. So, would leaving a huge turd and a gigantic pile of TP only 5 feet away from the entrance gate be a good thing for the owner of this land to see? If this was my land and I was gracious enough to allow people to use it I would be furious with such an act of disrespect.

I don't expect the culprit to come forward, but I hope you read this. You are a disrespectful pig, and your lack of concern for the owners land puts boaters access in jeopardy. Please learn some basic outdoor bathroom etiquette so as to not possibly ruin a great access point for a wonderful Colorado river.

Alright... let the moutainbuzz shit storm begin (pun intended).:D

Nasty. Hopefully it wasn't a boater.

One of my dogs was eating someone's diarrhea off of the ground on Ruby/Horsethief. That almost made me throw up.

The one time that pooh did make me throw up was when my basement toilet was plugged up and I could not figure it out at all so I turned off the water, unbolted the toilet, and took it out so I could access the pipe in the floor and it had a tampon applicator wedged sideways in it, holding up a logjam of toilet paper and pooh. I threw up in a bucket when I pulled the pooh-covered tampon thingy out of there. Someone at one of my wife's parties had flushed the thing down there. True story.

Pretty simple. At high traffic put-in and take-outs, pee in the river, poo in established sanitary facilities or a bag and carry it out. Cat holes just don't work in high traffic areas.

Lame. Bailey is a great run, and its late season flows make it a gem. Please be respectful of the private property owners and keep the place clean.

These kinds of acts give the boating community a bad name, and thats the last thing we need in places where most of the access is along private property.
