Unfortunately, the tunnel if off, and the grant gauge is showing 130 cfs, so the bailey gauge reading of 485 is bogus. Probably ice / gauge malfunction.

Bummer. Bailey gauge shows 485, and I got a couple of texts today from folks wondering if it were legit, and if so, should we quit working and go boating! Gotta love the die hards...

It was really cold just skiing today. Paddling Bailey today would have redefined cold for most us. Leif obviously would have had no issues.

we hit the royal gorge yesterday... there was probably more slush than water for most of the run, everything from helmets to boats were covered in ice.

easily the coldest water i have paddled.

How sure are we that Bailey isn't running? Yes the upper gauge looks ice controlled but now this gauge shows similar:

Crap! Wish I'd seen this earlier! Just got back and man is it good to be in warm dry clothes. I thought it seemed a little boney when I put in - after a quarter mile I decided to bag it. At least when I hiked my raft back out there was plenty of snow to slide it on and I was able to warm up pulling on the Z-Drag ...

I am 100% sure.

After staring at the guages all winter for years, I have learned that ice dams fuck up gauges, and snow doesn't become runoff in the midst of an artic cold front.

No escaping the laws of thermodynamics!
