There's an 5 year old string of posts on this topic, and it appears that Aire has changed their design since then. They and NRS appear to have similar construction now. I am wondering which of these newer straps do you guys prefer for IK use?

I have the NRS and like them -- contoured, easily adjustable via the cam buckles. I just took a look at the AIRE ones at their site-- they look very similar to me.

I have both brands on two IK's. Glued on dee rings for my ThrillSeeker and used the NRS straps. Just purchased Aire Outfitter and ordered the Aire straps for it.

Both are similar in construction and workmanship.

I think the Aire strap design works better on my Aire Outfitter. Personal opinion as both are quality products.

Aire improved their straps for the new model (2011+) Force and included a cam buckle like the NRS model. These were starting to slip after 50 uses or so and Aire replaced them for me with some that have an improved buckle. The replacement straps were the most solid I've ever used and I recommend them. These should be what Aire is using exclusively now.

Anything with a cam buckle and no plastic parts should be fine, and both companies will no doubt replace anything defective. I wish someone would make a set with the 1.5" buckles - they would be much easier to operate with cold hands!
