Afternoon in Durango

I will be in Durango on Monday about noon and am hoping to get a little river time in. I was thinking of renting a playboat for the town run and whitewater park. What are the odds of finding someone to boat with if I show up at the put in on Monday afternoon? Any other suggestions for a quick trip out there. I consider myself a solid class 3/4 boater with many laps down staircase on the sf payette.
