Good call on trying blue fittings. The nice red ones I bought last summer are mostly pink now.
They are made for 1" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe, 1.315" ODAre these for 1" aluminum tubing (1" OD) or for 1" Sch40 (1.32" OD?)
Curious if they're anywhere close to fitting 1" EMT conduit (1.163" OD)
So they mate 1" to 1"?They are made for 1" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe, 1.315" OD
Not sure what the question is. These are made so that the u-bolt fits round the OD of 1" schedule 40 aluminum pipe (actual OD measurement of 1.315") and the shank fits inside the pipe. The ID of 1" schedule 40 pipe is 1.049". These fittings operate exactly like a NRS lopro made for 1.25" schedule 40 pipe, only for smaller pipe.So they mate 1" to 1"?
they are for 1" pipe, they will fit, but have smaller contact surface. Are these for 1" aluminum tubing (1" OD) or for 1" Sch40 (1.32" OD?)
Curious if they're anywhere close to fitting 1" EMT conduit (1.163" OD)
There's always a new request!!!I'd like one that mates 1" pipe (for a GoPro/windsock/flag) to NRS pipe.
Thanks for the feedback. We will look at that for the next batch.I bought 6 of these fittings to add to my existing cataraft frame to add one moveable cross bar, and to make a rigid linkage between my rowing module and trailer frame to make an effective extra bay for another dry box.
The fit and finish is very good. The radius of the fitting mates flush with the 1" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe. I like the blue color as it matches my blue cataraft tubes better than the red color used on some of Revolvers other fittings. The ends of the u-bolts are nicely rounded over. However, the only negative I can find is that the u-bolts are not cut short enough. They stick up above the nuts once tightened down too much and also extend above the top of the fitting. It is hard to imagine why Revolver Outdoors left the ends of the u-bolts so long. This is a significant issue that should be corrected by Revolver Outdoors if they make any additional batches. The bolts should not extend above the fitting as they can definitely cause injury when climbing round the frame. I'll have to spend some time trimming and refinishing the end of all the u-bolts. Other than that, they seem great. I'll report back with some pics of their configuration when I have the boat all setup and on the water latter this summer.
Mt. Buzz is dead, long live Mt. Buzz.
