Recently picked up a new Nomad and want to move the seat all the way forward. The screws by the hips sit in tracks and are a no brainer. But what do you do with the screw that attaches the seat to the plastic pillar? It screws through the plastic pillar into a threaded metal plate mounted at the top of the seat. When you move the seat forward, the metal hole moves forward and out of the position drilled in the pillar. Should I just re-drill the plate in the postion that I want, and attach the screw, or dremel out something? Please advise? Dagger said this seat is fully adustable in 5 min, but I tend not to believe this as I was 3 beers into it with still no result! What am I missing?? Thanks.

I feel your pain. It is beyond me why they would make an outfitting for a boat that does not slide far enough forward to fit the majority of paddlers. I am thinking I will drill my own holes.

Maybe someone from Dagger can chim in and help us out, the boat is sooo awesome, but I am so frustrated with the outfitting.

Use the dremel

Hey Mike,

Use the dremel or a rotozip top make a slot in the pillar, where there is just a hole now. You do not need to move or redrill the seated nut. Even if you successfully drilled the brass inset nut, you would still need to thread it.

the seat will slide under the pillar if there is a slot in the pillar. The slot should be no wider than the hole is now...I would remove the pillar from the boat to make it easier. you may need to make the hole on top larger too to get a screwdriver on the bolt.

When I moved my seat all the way forward I just had to put my foot on the pillar and push it forward, the foam portion of the pillar should compress enough so that the hole in the plastic part of the pillar will line up with the last of the three embedded threads that are in the seat.
