Glen Canyon dam release question

I've noticed the gauge at Lee's is staying a relatively constant low instead of the "normal" daily fluctuation. The lake level is rising. Does anyone know what's going on? We are launching on the 25th of June, I guess I'm trying to predict levels? Any info appreciated!

Thanks,

Dan P.

I am pretty sure they are running a constant low to take aerial photos for a river channel study. I know that project was to take place over Memorial Day weekend, maybe it is lasting a bit longer. As for June, I am pretty sure levels are supposed to be fluctuating between 9,000 and 17,000 then bump up to 10k-18k in July. You can always check out RRFW Riverwire Glen Canyon Dam Operations Update. I am pretty sure they post on mountain buzz.

Sounds about right. Ran into their science blitz team down by Silver Grotto on our float earlier this month. They definitely have equipment in place for aerial surveys along the entire length of the river. Hope its a productive study.
