Paddling Info/Partner?

I will be coming out to the Littleton area (from CT) on business August 23 to 30th and was looking at info on the Arkansas River. (The class 3 sections). It seems pretty low right now and was wondering if it would be a safe bet to consider running it for the first time at current levels?

Also: If anyone has plans to do this run Fri, Sat or Sun. and wouldn't mind an extra, please contact me at [email protected]

I can bring gear but will need to rent a boat and paddle.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks-
R

Robin...

Get in touch w/ CKS in Nathrop.

They will get you squared away with whatever you need.

I, however, would be very surprised if much will be running on the Ark at that time. You should probably consider doing the lower blue just north of Silverthorne. It's great read and run III and really beautiful. CKS also has a shop right near by and should be able to get you whatever you need... well to a point... :0

More beta...

You might want to look into Foxton as well. It will likely be running and is a bit closer than the Ark or Blue. You could possibly pull an after-work run if you were real motivated. If you end up in the dark, you are along a road so you could bail at any time. You could easily do a Waterton run after work (1 mile of III+ or IV- depending on level). I'd try the above if you have time after work and then the Blue or Ark on the w/e. Enjoy your stay.
