Westwater access these days?

I was thinking of doing a day run on my paddleboard down there and wondered what the permit deal is these days. Can you call up and get one still? Day of? Any info appreciated.

I think Andy's post from a while back sums it up.

Fourteen minutes? Actually, that time estimate seems pretty generous for how the permits go. Carol could very easily told a dozen people the permits were gone by then. For one of those prime season weekends once I'd swear I got through by something like 8:05 and was already shut out.

All too often, it seems the Westwater Dialathon goes like this: (07:59): Busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, busy signal, Carol: "I'm sorry but the permits are all taken."

Good luck getting it dialed in,

-AH

Here's the launch calendar (looks pretty full):

Might be able to pick up a mid-week cancelation, or you could always try and jump on someone else's permit. Good luck.
