Warning: Do not buy a Lendal Paddle
This is just a warning to anyone who is looking for a paddle.
Stay away from Lendal paddles
I was sold on the versatility of the four-piece break down so I bought three of these paddles. Two straight shaft and one bent shaft with three different blades.
Over the past couple of years I have broken all three of these paddles in the exact same place (where the blade connects to the shaft).
Let me say, breaking a paddle is not uncommon in whitewater, however, usually there is a reason like an impact.
All three of the paddles broke without impact in normal paddling use. No impact at all just suddenly sheared off on a normal paddle stroke.
The first I broke was promptly replaced by Lendal as they said it was an obvious defect.
Lendal refused to replace the last two as they said they are new owner's and will not warranty products made by the previous owner. They say their paddles are far superior to the old ones.
I won't try them again as all I have is their word and in my opinion, it means nothing if they are not willing to stand behind a brand they bought, even if it is not their product.
Just a warning to any who are looking to purchase a paddle. I did not enjoy breaking a paddle and so I hope that no one else experiences the same thing.
