WAG bags or grooved?

For a 2 person week long trip. I don’t have a groover so why not wag bags in a food grade sealed bucket??

Mostly depends on the river, itís regulations, and ur preference. If it allows wag bags and no groover available then go for it. Both when properly used leave no trace.

We do week long trips with a family of 4 all the time with with wag bags. I use a rocket box to hold the dirty ones. No smell at all, seal is better than a lot of Groovers I've been around. We have a toilet seat like this one. Reasonably stable. Very sturdy. Over all, I am very happy with it and have no intention of buying a groover.

I did a 4 day packraft trip this past fall with wag bags in a tube storage device. It got shitty. Literally. I prefer a groover.

I use a 5 gallon bucket with a gamma seal lid and use the double doodie bags. Put a splash of pine sol in the bag before the first deuce and it really helps with the smell. We use one bag per day per 4 people or stretch it out 2 days if there are only 2 of us. Keep the used bags in the bottom of the bucket.

Hey Gazzy. You might want to call river runners and see if you can rent one. That way you get a seat for your girlfriend and you don't have to deal with dumping it or getting rid of your shit at the end of the trip.

I second the Clean waste system with 5gal/Gamma lid combo lined with a heavy duty trash bag for storage, an ammo can would work great too. There is virtually no smell and bagging you doo is better than cleaning a turd laden capsule. I would buy some extra powder that you sprinkle in the bag, helps absorb stink and moisture.

Wag bags

We do week long river trips in IK, we all use Wag bags and each persons carried a 2 1/2 gal sealed plastic bucket to carry their on used bags in. one person carried the wag bag toliet. Been doing it every since they started letting people use wag bags on the rivers.
