Spreadsheet for Differing Raft Frame & Gear Options...
Curious about how the Super Puma would weigh out in different configurations: day trips with (2) and (3) people fly fishing, (2) person (7) day camping trips fly fishing and whitewater, (2) & (1) person (7) day camping trips rigged for low water. Sasha is my 9 year old daughter so since she only weighs 70 lbs. I have separate columns for her joining me. See the attached PDF. I photoed the raft rigged with a Recretec frame last weekend on the Yakima River in Washington so that you could better understand the configurations shown on the spreadsheet. (If you PM me I will send the spreadsheet in Excel format so that you can plug in your own values for your own raft/cataraft and conditions.) Bought this 6 year old rig off Craigslist for $2,500. Yeah, I know the anchor system is a little odd. By the way, really like the thigh bars as they enabled seeing & casting to fish while the raft was being rowed. Without clothes or kitchen gear I was able to get the total weight of the vessel down to 400 lbs. without passengers for low water (with drinkable ice). Totally inaccurate figure as there is NO provision for booze. So 407 lbs. with a gallon of Wild Turkey. What besides beer have I left out?
