Special Edition Wave Destroyer?

I think some of you may have seen this video already:

In it, Mark Cramer, runs Big Falls on the Payette River in what looks like a Wave Destroyer. I'm looking at his boat though, and it looks like the tubes are way more kicked than a normal wave destroyer. Is this a prototype of some sort, some "special edition," or perhaps just the camera angles? Would there be any extra advantages to extra kicked tubes over the stock WD's and Legends?

These were a much earlier version of the WD. Cramer tested a lot of different designs.

That's not rafting, that's water falling with style. It looks to me like the tubes are larger diameter as well. Or the driver is very small.

I believe it is a 2006 or somewhereabouts 15' x 22'' prototype built for Mark for his trip to the Stikine. He ended up not being able to reflip the boat in a terminal eddy and he says he likes the 14x22 design more now. He said the big water performance of the bigger tubes did not outweigh their weight/size, hindering the reflip process. Bigger equals better big water performance, but everything is a tradeoff...

Do you know about how big of a guy Mark is? If those tubes are 15' long they must be bigger than 22". Just my opinion.

Few newb questions. What is a "terminal eddie"? What does that mean that he wasn't able to re-flip? Does that mean he had to abandon the boat? It seems odd that a 14' boat would be that much easier than a 15 but that is probably what makes me a newb.

He is bigger than me and I am about 6'2. I think they're 22'' tubes but I'm not entirely certain. A terminal eddy is an eddy that does not let you escape. Think of a big whirlpool. He said if he could reflip the boat he might have been able to escape, but he felt like the boat was just a little too big and heavy. He ended up leaving the boat there and was helicopter rescued.

Let me break it down like this.... Dude, from your previous posts... Aren't looking for a fishing cat and wanting an NRS frame with no intentions of running big techy water? Who the hell buys legend or WD tubes for that application??? The DBK is here to laugh at you - not with you! Just like how I poke fun of bitches buying full blown down hill MTN bikes and riding the pave. Or dropping your benes on fat pow skis and never leaving the bunny. How long have you been "thinking" of buying a cat. Pull the trigger bee-ach. Get yourself some of them 6 color sotar tubes and scream "Check out my hard core ass" as your blasting the flat and frightin the "in your face wind" pushing the fat high rocker tubes. Ya, it all makes perfect sense. Keep posting ur want be shit and I'll keep on leg slapping cuz that shit is messed up man. Go ahead belly roller, blast the DBK. But in the end ur sitting on your aras pounding your mouse into submission while the DBK is putting the froth in his face. Maybe ELKHOLER from sheep land well set his Velcro gloves down and defend your lame ass?? But in the end, running WD or legend tubes on class 3 sporting NRS flexi frame is not only sacrilegious its just down right retarded. So, this is my finger pointing at you who and Bahahahahahaha. If you want to come kick my ass I'll putting in on the lower five nfp Saturday bright and early. I got 5 bucks that says you'll still thinking about what boat you'll buy with bones you aint got! Later.. A
