Small solvent storage containers

What are people using to carry their chemicals for their repair kits without bringing the full huge can of MEK, for instance?

Once I tried to store some in a small container I thought would work, but I think it was just fumes that leaked out until the container was completely empty, and it literally melted the plastic handle on my scissors.

small nalgene bottles, they come in sizes from 1oz on up. They are originally a laboratory company so they should be more than substantial.

MEK will eat through Nalgene in about 2 days - no plastic works, from bitter experience. You're stuck with finding 8 oz. metal screw tops, available online and pricey but worth it for piece of mind. No fumes, keeps MEK for years unopened.

PVC primer cans for gluing pipe. Properly dispose of the original fluid then rinse with MEK. They work great and are easy to get.

That's what I thought too.

I had a container like that but it must have had a bad seal, and then the issue I described above.

I'll order some fresh ones.

What's the proper way to dispose of the PVC primer?

They have a plastic lid... I suspect that part would fail.

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately they will only ship to Canada via UPS, and I'll get dinged with crazy fees.

I need to try to find a local source, I think.
