Old style Puma

I am looking into an old style Puma. I have paddled a new style and loved it. Does anyone have experience with the older boats? Good, bad or indifferent?

Do they handle about the same? Any problems with construction?

I've had one of the older styles for several years. Lots of fun to R2 on creeks, and I have rowed it down those same creeks. My brother and I had a hoot paddling it down the Ocoee first thing in the morning to get warmed up for the day.

The older style has very pointed ends and tends to "fall" to one side or the other when you ride up a big wave if paddlers are not evenly weighted or paying attention.

While I like it very much it will be replaced by a Super Puma for more people, room, and gear hauling .

Hope that helps.
