Oar length for Aire Sabertooth

I picked up an Aire Sabertooth as my first raft late last year and have enjoyed it with the wife and kids. I am building a frame for it so that I can do some solo trips this year but I have no idea what length oars to buy or what height my mounts should be. I will be riding a cooler as a seat that will put me about 6" over the sides of the raft.

Any wisdom from you experienced river folk would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Dustin,
What is the length of that boat and width of the frame? I row my 11' Culebra with a 48" wide frame, and run 8' oars. I'm guessing you'll need a bit taller oar tower sitting that high, probably about a 9".

Congrad's on the new frame, small cats are FUNNER than SHIT to row!!!
Feel free to post pics of your frame if you want any feedback.
Something of higher value, building things yourself, at least that's how I feel about my river gear.

I have a 12' Vanguard with a 48" wide frame. I use 8 1/2' oars with it and love it..

Plus one on the taller oar towers. 8-8.5 feet would be my best suggestion depending on size of your knees, space between oars you prefer, and how wide it becomes with the oar towers.

Thanks for the input. 8' sounds like the way to go with 9" rise on the mounts.
