NRS Barrel Pump O rings

Is there a silicone or lubricant to apply to the internal O-Rings for smooth operation? I have completely cleaned out the barrel and all parts; however the O-Rings seem to be binding on the PVC barrel.

nrs pump

Try a heavy dose of 303 on it, and you might spray a bit in the barrel itself, then wipe off the excess.

Sure and I always do in addition to the o ring a dab ull do ya just a bit around the very top of the inside of the tube so it has some residual left but not enough to collect gunk.

NRS Barrel Pump O rings

When I cleaned it last time and used white lithium grease it ended up attracting a lot of sand and silt. It was actually working worse than before I had cleaned it. As an on-river fix I just used some olive oil and it's been working great.

Agreed. We have about 4 NRS pumos in the group and we have to take all four on all trips to make sure that at least one works or have parts to fix one.

The hose on mine kept coming off at the base, NRS paid for shipping and fixed it but when it happened again I gave the pump to my buddy and got a Carlson, MUCH better pump.
