Marking black gear

Whats the best way to put contact info on black cataract oars? I doubt the silver sharpie marker would hold up very well.

Have had good luck on my black werner paddles with a paint pen (silver or gold) - the one with the ball inside you have to shake. Just touched it up this year after probably 3 or 4 seasons. It will rub off after a while but was happy with how long it lasted.

You could go to your local pet goods store and print off a pair of dog tags on a laser engraver and then epoxy them to the shafts.

Damn Larry, you just made my brain fire for half a second. I'm a laser shop owner, and a cataract owner... I'm going to see what happens when I zap the shaft directly and re-spar. This sounds way more fun than working.

And if it works out, I bet you could get some of us dam Buzzards sending you shit, and paying you to put our name on it....?

I put silver sharpie on the sleeves and blades and it’s held up really well. I also put electrical tape stripes in purple to help with visibility if they fell in the river.

The silver felt tips work quite well. The white or silver paint pens work even better.

Or make a stencil and use a rattle can with Krylon Fusion.

pew pew

Got around to sticking my oars in the laser. The fiberglass shafts looked really sharp before re-sparring, they (predictably) lost some shine after a touch up. The real winners are the blades, they engrave quite nicely.

I bet some square tops would looks real nice with some custom engraving...

Anyone want to send me a pair to play with?
