Drill a hole below where the lid snaps on or cut a slot (not in the lid) in the bottom bucket at the top. SEE PHOTO L/H bucket.
I tried the black bucket thing. And it only worked well for layovers. But by in the morning the water is air temp and your usually on the water before it gets warmed up at all on most days. Paint chipping off is also a problem. One thing that does work is fill a solar shower, strap on the boat in the sun and instead of a clean body you can have 16 pairs of clean hands at the end of the day

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life on or off the river.

What Bighorn said for cutting the hole.

On winter trips, I like to drain mine for the night, river rinse the pump assembly, then store it in the reservoir bucket. In the morning, I heat some water on the blaster, ad river water till it is only warm, then add my capful of bleach, in the bottom bucket.
Keeps the hand wash from being froze solid, or having cold parts break, plus, nice warm water to wash hands! Does a lot to keep people washing there hands when if it isn’t cold, and good hygiene can make the diffence between Nora Virus, or no Nora Virus!
