Input on scepter jug...

Going to get a 2.5gl scepter can for Russian fire water. Have big blue for H2O and curious what you guys would get?

Thinking I may not want blue just cuz that may confuse folks (which would be awesome to watch by the way) and kinda like the black but not a huge fan of scalding vodka.

Clearly I have a major, life-altering decision to make --- so I ask, "WWBD?"

Input on scepter jug...

Just an off the cuff thought, will the alcohol effect the plastic and cause life altering health issues?

Planning to call Scepter prior to pulling trigger --- it is a valid concern

Fire Water

I like the light brown. Long term storage might not be the best but for a river trip it should be ok

I've been using mine for 3 years, still alive. But haven't tried storing that much vodka in it, just water.

Scepters don't seal perfectly well, so if it is stored on its side it could drip. Upright, no problem.

Interesting --- I don't think mine has ever "dripped". Do you use the mil-spec cans?

We had 14 of the military style scepters on a recent Grand trip. I believe most (not all) leaked when on their side.

I have the 2.5 gal mil-spec ones in tan that I've been using for 4-5 years now. They leak a little when tilted if you don't have them super tight. Solid as a rock little water containers otherwise. I've never seen anyone put alcohol in them, so no beta on that.

I don't know about Sceptre, but I had a bad experience with plastic and whiskey in my younger days. I got so sick I thought or maybe hoped I would die. I would only use recycled liquor bottles or buy the cheap shit that comes in plastic.
