Hanging boxes

I have dry boxes suspended a few inches above the floor of my raft with webbing straps and it seems sturdy, but does anyone have a suggestion on how to keep them from tilting forward or back?

RE: NRS mounts: For the same money, drop bags are more versatile.

Go out to the nearest truck stop and buy edge protectors for 4 inch straps. They have holes in them that 1 inch straps will fit through. They do the same thing as those 85 dollar nrs ones only they cost a couple bucks apiece. Hell I see them laying around on the edge of the highway a lot.

I read "dry boxes" in the OP, and automatically assumed 8 a couple spares don't hurt. Free prime shipping doesn't hurt much either. but yeah, they are lots cheaper than the NRS stuff and do the same job.

I had the same problem with my cooler. I tried running the straps through some lengths of 1.5" hose. It helped but didn't stop the tilt completely. I finally bought the NRS cooler version mentioned above. Instead of 90 degree angles on the aluminum for the dry box version, it has round edges with a radius to fit cooler edges. NRS' nifty system fixed the tilt problem.

The NRS ones use 2 straps to go underneath the box/cooler so that there can be no tilt. One of the straps connects to the top of one angle. The other is threaded through second angle and connects to the bottom of the first. Loop straps go over the top.

I had to cut an inch or two off one angle and cut a new slot in it to make it fit my Cambridge frame. It wasn't very hard. If the the price is too high, I don't think it would be to hard to fab one up yourself.
