Avon Info

I bought an old Avon raft, and its pretty sweet, but I'm trying to find out some more information about it.

Does anyone have any contact info for Avon? I cannot find anything on their website.

Avon was bought out by zodiac a long time ago. I doubt that they will be much help. A better bet might be to contact a raft repair shop or post your questions here.

You might try contacting Clavey Paddle Sports in Cali. They used to be a rep/importer/seller of Avon rafts. Here's a link to their Avon parts web page with their phone #. https://shop.clavey.com/avon-parts-c129.aspx

Old Avon

Avon rafts rock!

I purchased a new Professional at the factory in Whales in 1975 for $750 with an OARS/Sobek discount. Unfortunately it got chewed up by hippos on it's second trip down the Omo River in Ethiopia. The link you need for basic info on Avon Inflatables is here: Avon Military and Profesional Feel free to PM me about these rafts. I have a fleet of five. They are kind of like old classic cars, that only get better with age. I have never seen any 40 year old Avon having any fabric issues, as Avon used the finest French fabric and vulcanized the hypalon to both sides, prior to the mid 90's I believe. It seems that the only common issue is with the recessed valve boots. They seem to crack as a result of being to tightly rolled or stepped on, and are tedious to repair.
Enjoy the high water we are currently experiencing here in Colorado.

Avon rafts

Call the guys at Inflatable Boat Center in Portland, OR. Avon rafts are now called MilPro (Military Professional). I bought a SB Pro from them in April & with a few changes it still looks like an Avon.
