Anyone build a t-box? Any reason not to?

Thinking of building a t-shaped drybox as a winter project. 3 hatches; large hatch to sit on, side hatches for captains' boxes.

I don't have a good reason to keep them separate; will require fewer straps to hold it all on my frame, and I'll maximize storage if there are no gaps between the boxes. I have Pelican boxes I can use for day trips; this would pretty much be for overnights/multidays only.

Planning to use a double-lip hatch coaming detail and Southco latches like a whitewater dory. Fiberglassed marine plywood like a stitch-and-glue boat.

What do you love or hate about your own captains boxes?

If you are taking inspiration from the fiberglass drift boat market, the idea is a good one. I can think of a specific multi-day packing scenario where my Silverback pads would fit between a deep center box and tubes on each side; deep enough with a latch to carry small goods in addition to the Captain's boxes I already use in the rower's cockpit.
