Aire 136DD Prototype

Just got this in the shop yesterday. Pretty cool new boat that apparently might make a production model pretty soon. Custom boat that an outfitter friend of mine asked for. Curious what you buzzards might think. 21" side tubes, double diminishing down to 16". Continuous rocker. 6'8" wide, 13'6" long. 15" kick, 13" from 2" waterline. Aire liked the idea enough that they built this one, and it sounds like they might make it a new model.

Prototype has to go back to Aire. This one isn't being sold to the outfitter. I hope they give this to Oregon raft team or someone to proof it. Those boys know how test gear. Too damn cold too run it around here in the next week. Kind of bummed about the weather I'd like to row this thing. I'm just fitting some frames to it.

Aire has had a 160DD for awhile. They are currently on sale.

Dimensions on the 136DD are similar to the Sotar SL 13 & SL 14. I sure love my SL 14. I bet folks will love this AIRE raft design. Looks sweet in the purple!

You're right. When I posted the sale of the 160DD in this "great deal" thread Aire responded that they are updating the kick on the 16. I was just saying that I really hope it looks like this prototype. It's hard to tell just by looks but it looks great.

Got it. I haven't been watching the great deal thread for awhile. Cool that Aire is making a smaller DD raft, and increasing the rocker in the bigger one.

Come to think of it the rockered boats are already represented in their "D" series. I thought the DD was a less rockered, "D" design with a higher load capacity, (which I really appreciate) and a higher kick would give it even more of a play mix. I'm really excited to see the new revisions. Keep in mind that I'm saying all of this with my limited understanding of their designs.

Without specs not sure how the above prototype fits in the mix.
