Ruby Horsethief - Salt Creek 2?

Anyone have experience with the Salt Creek 2 campsite on Ruby Horsethief? We have a trip coming up in a few weeks and are currently reserved for Salt Creek 2 on night #1 and Split Rock on night #2. I've floated RH many times, but have never stayed at Salt Creek 2 and can't find much info on it. I've heard good things about Split Rock, so am excited about that one.

The reason I ask is I see there is now availability at Cottonwood 5 for night #1 (whereas there wasn't before). We've stayed at that site a few times and liked it, but that was during a hotter part of the year, so we were happy to have all the shade. Just trying to figure out if it's worth switching or if we should stick with Salt Creek 2.

Thanks!

we camped at salt creek 2 this same week last year, only 6 in our group, but I thought it was great, shade all evening which is nice for hot days, view is across the river to the rising moon, there is a nice tree at the back of the camp with a small cliff band backing it, open flat sandy camp, landing was easy and fine for carrying gear up.....felt much more contained than the big open cottonwood sites,
I would camp there again....

Thank you! I changed to Cottonwood 5, but then changed it back.

We are a small group and the night we are staying is a full moon, so you sold me with that description!
