Need a trip next weekend!

I’d planned a Hell’s trip, but my partner fell through...

I need to get on the water, and it needs to be next week... I’ll travel pretty much anywhere in ID/OR/WA, but could even do MT. I will be originating @ NRS (Moscow) next Thursday.

If I sound desperate, it’s because this is less about next week and more about an April 2020 GRCA permit. I need to iron out gear kinks and hammer down my system. Care to help?

I’ll be rowing a 13.5’ raft and can be entirely self-contained. I will be traveling light and can adapt to whatever type of trip you want to run. Physician/Med Kit, New River guide back in the day, problem-solving can-do attitude will make a good addition to your trip of up to 7 days.

Not much flowing in MT right now. You could link up the Clark Fork and/or lower Flathead, but it will be all Class I-II. Similar for the Yellowstone or Missouri.
Pretty floating, though with lots of colors changing.


Everything else will be bony.

Hope ya can find a trip up there for when ya can go, but if you can’t, there’s normally some boating in the south west, into at least November, and by at least February, with the Colorado River system. Maybe the Owyhee River up that way in the spring, if worst came to worst?...

Hope ya can get out on your shake down, and congratulations on your Grand trip! Gonna be a spicy ride down there in the 13, but doable and fun as shit!!

Depending on your confidence level, you could always go Solo down Hells Canyon since you're self contained....

There's this gorilla amongst my plans, and obvious to the 'fam. Promised my wife and 3 young boys I'd not run > III solo, which is to say that's my confidence level.

I have to consider the weather, sights unseen, and likely empty gorge (if that happens), and ultimately my obligation to get home in time for work, fatherhood and husband(ry).

Good idea enough were I 20yrs prior...
