I have a launch for Main Salmon to mid-end July. Except I want to go after a middle fork trip I was invited on for early July without the 15 hour back home in between. No complaints here, just wondering if 'trading' is still an option like it used to be?
Yeah, the "Grand Salmon" is a coveted Middle-Main combo. Several threads on here about "turning the corner". I'm jealous. Have an awesome trip.
Only trick is getting the two to coincide. You might end up making a long final day to get on the Main trip soon enough..or camp at Corn Creek for a night or two if you have time to burn. Hitch to town and stock up on beer, or coordinate with one of the shuttle outfits for a resupply. Blackadar will do food packs.
No, you can't trade your date for an earlier date that will better coincide with the end of your middle fork trip.
It's not a bad idea and I don't see the harm in having that option available other than the programming nightmare for rec.gov. No, I don't they are ready for that yet.
