July 1st Hell's Launch to be Returned

F.Y.I. I will be placing my July 1st Hell's Canyon reservation (desirable non-motorized slot) to the reservation pool tomorrow morning at 7AM Pacific Time. If any folks on this site are able to claim it (randonm sometime within 24 hours), please let me know what time it popped up as available. I am curious how rec.gov works/or not for these re-issues.

Cheer's............

Hopefully, the road at Pittsburg landing is open by then. Sounds like they are having some serious issues with a major landslide.

What about the big water, June 17th seems right on the edge of when the big water goes down?

It shouldn't be too bad this year. I have run it up to 30K and it was a blast. Nothing too scary, plus it's a pool and drop type river.

Thanks with a 7 and 9 year old I stay away from big water. In Southern Colorado snow pack is like 150% and 304% in places in New Mexico..........

I'll shoot you a pm about an upcoming trip I have on Hells.

There are 3 class IV rapids I have broken out below.
1. Wild Sheep - Great spot to scout on river left. The trick is to start left, pull across the river and square-up to the wave train.
2. Granite - This one comes up quickly after Wild Sheep. It is best to scout river right by a campsite about 200-300 yards up river. I like to run it just left of center. You avoid the laterals coming off the wall this way.
3. Water Spout - Really easy at the higher levels. You can run this just left of center and watch for the fun hole at the end. At lower levels it can flip you. If you want to scout, it is river right.
