Why not raft during winter?

What are some good areas near Albuquerque to raft during September, October and November? April is too far away

Rio Chama and Rio Grande (flows permitting). I have kayaked the Rio Grande every month of the year, and I know the outfitters run it down into the 200's (cfs).

How near Albuquerque? Westwater runs almost year round and certainly in those months. The San Juan is also doable as late as Christmas...

How would the San Juan be around Thanksgiving in a raft?

The San Juan is awesome around thanksgiving, cold and most certainly can snow, but very pretty and quite. the permitting is set up so that all you have to do is apply for the dates that you want to go and you are pretty much guaranteed of getting your spot.

Other than that, just expect to be boating in colder weather with not as much sun. Plan accordingly.

and BLott is pretty much a retard
