Souse Hole 2600 right side Rio Grande Racecourse

Ran the Racecourse several times successful but decided to take the right side on and the river won. It sure was fun though. The first set I'm in the back on the 9' and the second set my buddy has his family in the 13'

Awesome photo set.

I have been blessed to run that drop quite a few times. Always took the river left little chute to avoid the flip.

Never ran center into the maw.

You guys took direct into the maw then took the swim ---- ride em cowboys and cowgirls!!!

We were there at the beginning of June I believe it was the 2nd that the picture was taken.
That left line is very smooth and is the correct way to run it. However that drop was pretty intense to take it head on.

Posting stuff from early June; sounds like you got the low water blues like me. Any interest in heading to the Lower Kern Sept. 20 to Sept. 24?

You nailed it with the low water blues. This time every year I end up buying gear and things because I am itching to get back out again. I may be interested in going on that trip. I need to see if I can swing it with work and more importantly with the wife. I will let you know, how hard is it to get the permits on the river there?

at lower flows (like now when it's 280) a very nice right run opens up at souse, in fact you just go all the way from river left to river right just above the hole (which is an exposed rock now), very fun. it's there at somewhat higher flows too but riskier to get to.
