Solar Powered Rafting/motoring Lake Powell

Last summer a couple of college friends and I paddled/rafted from Rocky Mountain National Park to Lake Mead over ~70 days.

When we got to Lake Powell, we didn't want to use a jet boat, so we borrowed a prototype solar raft from Jack's Plastic.

Check out a short 5 min video about the Powell journey:

Thanks for watching, let me know what you think.

Hey David,

Great video, really enjoyed watching the solar part. My friends and i actually got hooked up with Jack a year ago too and motored to Page, AZ via the San Juan River arm with solar power. It's a pretty cool experience being on that reservoir on a solar powered cataraft. Started above Silverton on the Animas and followed the rivers to Page. If you have interest we made a film about it to, you can watch it free online at if you or anyone else had any interest.

Anyways wanted to comment on your video, way cool.
