Shade at Mee Bottom

Looking to do a couple of nights at Mee. We want to hike on a layover day. There will only be two of us. I know Mee Corner has shade, do any of the other sites have shade on Mee Bottom? I stayed at 4 last July and at best there was shrub you could hunker down under. Looking for better than a shrub.

Thanks,

Tom

I don't think there are any trees between Mee Corner and the canyon, maybe a couple of saplings near the bank. There are like 3 cottonwood trees at Mee Canyon, they are also recently planted (last 10 years) and not growing too fast, and they are on the north side of the campsite so it's not the easiest to use them for shade this time of year..... but better than nothing.

I think this supports the recommendation in rivermaps that mentions dumping a pail or two of water on the adolescent cottonwoods.

Mee Canyon seems to be the best of Mee campsites since your going to be hiking into the canyon! Mee #1 has shade. Mee Corner is nice but it's the furthest from the actual canyon. The other Mee campsites are bleak.
