Ruby Horse thief / bug update

Has anyone just gotten off of Ruby and can you give me a bug update? What camps you may have been at also? Thanks

They are there and there are a lot of them. If it is bad on the upper c, it defiantly not good in Ruby!

Anyone have the latest? Hoping they’re calming down. Also hoping our campsite selection will pay off- Mee Corner and black rocks.
Just trying to decide if we need to buy a screen house to keep the kids from being carried away.

You know that mee corner to Black rocks is like a 3 mile day, right?
I only mention cause I picked those two camps myself one time.
Maybe you want the short day with the kids, though?

God that was great trip, Loma to North wash, and I missed my ww launch date, and had to call from ww for a cancellation
Lost track of time a little to quick...

Floated it last week. Cotton wood was bad especially in the brush, better down by the water. Thermacell and repellents mostly did the trick. Nothing at black rocks, even slept out on beach with kids. Used screen house a bit at cotton wood, was happy to have it. Black flies were biting on way out to ww. Slow enough to easily kill. Enjoy your trip!

We just had a crew get back from Ruby. They stayed at Mee 1 both nights. Mosquitoes were pretty manageable there. Bug spray for the most part kept them at bay.

We talked to some folks that camped at Cottonwood and mosquitoes were pretty bad from about 5:00-7:30. They people did retreat to their tents for about an hour.

Thanks all! Sounds like we're going to survive.

Yeah, Matt-man, it'll be a short day, but with little kiddos, having a good site- water access, shade- are paramount, so I chose based on best sites rather than river mileage. Looks like I dodged a bullet, b/c otherwise I would have gone Cottonwoods, and it sounds like they've been ground zero for Buggamageddon.
