RTIC Cooler Sale...

Hey everyone... just wanted to let you all know there is a pretty good RTIC sale right now. I have no experience or affiliation with them, and certainly can't/won't attest to their quality, but the 145 was the right size for my 16 footer (approximately 40" x 20" x 20"). I pulled the trigger for $285 with no taxes and free shipping... WAY more reasonably priced than any other cooler in that size range. Just hoping I can lift the thing into the boat without a crane...

Not paying state sales tax was in the old days....Now days if you don't pay it at purchase the governor will find you. This language comes right from the CDOR:

If a taxpayer purchases taxable property over the internet from an out-of-state retailer that does not collect Colorado tax, the retailer is required to:
•Provide a Transactional Notice at the time of sale to Colorado Customers of their responsibility to pay consumer use tax directly to the Department.
•Send the taxpayer an Annual Purchase Summary by January 31 listing the purchases they made during the prior year. The Annual Purchase Summary the taxpayer receives will help them in reporting and paying consumer use tax.
•Provide Annual Customer Information Reports to CDOR by March 1 with the total dollar amount of purchases made by each Colorado customer in the prior calendar year. The law prohibits the identification of particular items purchased from retailers.

Wow... good info. Didn't know this.

I'll look for the info from the retailer, so far nothing, but maybe I'll get something by 1/31.

Thanks, I had already read your whole threat on RTIC... sounds like a lot of soft cooler issues. As far as hard coolers, the worst issues I could find online were rubber feet pop out (which I'll just remove) and floppy latches... embarrassing, but I hear it happens to everyone.

On another note, I just saw a flash sale on the Orca website for today only... looks like 30% off their coolers, of which the 140 is very similar in size to the RTIC 145. I probably would have gone with the Orca 140 had I known... good time of year to buy gear!
