North Platte Trip

With the wife still essential and working I need to link up with someone for a little day trip up to the N. Platte. Hard shell or inflatable... I'll bring a little cat or raft, you can ride shuttle in the capped bed of my truck. We'll keep our distance and still have fun "exercising". No problem making the trip with one tank of gas and I don't plan on making any stops...just need someone who is game.

Not to throw too much shade, but seems kind of sketchy to throw out an invite to a bunch of buzzard strangers to run a river together during a pandemic. Ha. I'd love to get up there too. Looks like the flow is starting to creep up there into the doable range. Not interested in linking up, but just out of curiosity, you are proposing a "day trip" from Denver to run the N. Platte? Routt to where? Prosepect? Good luck and stay safe.

Not helpful but I'm down later in May. Just had surgery and have a few more weeks before I'm cleared for that sort of thing.

Now back on subject, just the short float to whatever that campground is called. I've never been and would love to hear about foreseeable difficulties. I'm getting a few PMs I'll be in contact asap.

Foreseeable difficulties:
The take out is a very long unpleasant hill up to Six Mile Gap campground so the lighter the craft the better. Lower levels (right now ~600) can make for a long slow day. Consider taking the smallest craft available to you.
From Denver that seems like a very long day trip.

Add me to the list in May - I already had CoVid and recovered so I can't get you sick.

Making one more comment about the irresponsibility of treating the shutdown as a vacation. And it seems like, of anywhere, that would be one of the coldest places you could go boating right now. Maybe some locals know if it's likely to be ice free.
