Lower Blue raft put-in?

Where do the rafters put-in on the Lower Blue? The put-in description on Eddy Flower makes it sound like it's inaccessible to rafts.

While you're at it, where's a good take-out? Thanks.

Just below Greem Mtn dam. It is a class IV put in. Lower your raft with a rope. Take out is just after trough road bridge (CR 1) on river right. Blue take out/Gore put in.

I agree on the Class IV put-in. A long steep slide for the boat with a LONG rope. Just be grateful it is the put-in, NOT the take-out. The long Blue float goes to the Trough road. There is a shorter run of the canyon only, with a State access take-out above the bridge on river left only a few miles downstream from the put-in. I forget the name of the road off the highway, but it is the left turn (west) into the first housing development north of the reservoir, and just follow to the river and cross the bridge. Parking spaces on left.

Additional comment - I just went to Eddy Flower to see what you were referring to. The put-in trail reviewed is NOT the one we mostly use. That one is higher up, and some people want the extra 100 yards of run. That is NOT accessable to rafts. Instead, follow the paved road down past the dam to the very end. At the parking lot, there is a little dirt road to the left that trailered rafts can be backed down to the top of the long put-in slope. If you put-in in the morning, there should be others there to show you the way. Have fun!

Put in you really want 100ft to do the lower. 75ft is not quite long enough.

There's a kayak-only takeout on Spring Creek Rd (Grand Co Rd 10)

The raft takeout is Trough Road (Grand Co Rd 1)

SummitAP -
Thanks for the clarification on the Spring Ck take-out excluding rafts. I've always canoed it, so didn't know there was a difference.

Nice, thanks for the info. How's the run compared to Pumphouse to Rancho or Grizzly to New Castle?

It depends on the level. Where it is now is pretty mild. Overall, bigger stuff than Grizzley - except for South Canyon. Pumphouse about the same. In a raft you just have to keep it off a few walls and avoid a few rocks. The biggest rapid, the Wall, is near the end of the canyon and has some good waves. There are two low dams (not keepers) just below the Wall you will have to slide over.
