The gauge is reporting 402 CFS which is just a touch above the cut off (recommended on AW) of 400 CFS. I was hoping to get in one more trip this year and wondered if anyone has experience with very low flows on the 6 mile to Bennett Peak section. Planning to run a light raft with backpacking/fishing gear. I cant put on until next Friday and I assume it may be down to 300 by then. Thoughts?
South Platte Special's, Muddler Minnow's and Spuddlers, always worked for me on that stretch of North Platte. Backpack and fishing gear, you should be fine. If you get hang up, all the better, just start fishing from that spot. Use the low water hang up's with your boat, to your advantage for fishing, I use to look for hang up locations just to fish some promising deeper pools. Have fun.
