Wilderness Gateway campground is located between the more difficult upper section and the more commonly run lower section. It's a fee site, and mostly first come first serve, tons of sites.
There are several boat ramp options and different ways to run the river. The lower section is very scoutable from the highway, and the upper section has one rapid that needs to be scouted but cannot be seen from the highway.
There are some forest pull offs on the highway but I don't have specifics on the at large camping since we always just camped at the campground.
Dress for the swim, the water won't be warm. It is a super fun river to run and I am jealous!
