Gunny Gorge rescue

Very strong work by GJ rafters on recent rescue of injured fishermen. Way to go go guys! Great problem solving and very well prepared duo.

On a separate note, any recommendations on brand of SPOT device to buy? Experience with them? My wife read the article and said, "I am buying you one of those for Christmas!" She always worries when we are in the Gorge.

InReach - allows 2-way text communication via Iridium sat network.
Thankfully I have only used mine to send "we're fine camped at x" messages which are much appreciated at home and to rearrange a shuttle pickup.
Can also get weather updates.

+1 on the InReach, from a former SPOT user. 2 way communication is awesome.

Once more, it shows to be prepared for mistakes, especially at this time of the year. I'm glad they didn't have to haul out a corpse (or at least call the sheriff). Shows how awesome and how proud I am of our boating community is!
