East TN best whitewater town, best rivers??

Hey buzzards!

Taking a trip to East Tennessee next year to scout the area and rivers. I like the Copperhead/Ducktown area along the Ocoee, but looking for recommendations from folks who have lived and worked in the Western Smokies, what the best whitewater communities are, and some good runs in the spring/summer/fall.

Never been past Knoxville. Any input is appreciated.

Welcome! I used to live in Benton and worked on the Ocoee for a few years. Are you kayaking or rafting?

Look into the Tellico, Big Creek, Big Laurel, Upper Nantahala/Cascades, Cheoah (release only usually), Pigeon is funish, Pigeon and Hiwassee Dries, Nolichucky for sure (shuttle with USA raft), Chattooga, Watauga, Wilsons Creek, Sauty Creek. Depending on the levels these can all be rafted

Go to American white water and using the map under the ACCESS tab of any river will show a map that shows all neighboring river runs mapped out.
