Does MFS allow you to put an alternate trip leader on permit?

Lucked out this year with MFS permit. Unfortunately I'm recovering from an injury and not sure I'll be healthy enough to go . It's tough to get people to take time off work and commit to a trip when the permit holder isn't 100% comitted, and I won't really know if I can go until spring. I know some rivers allow you to specify an alternate trip leader on the permit, but I couldn't see anything about that for MFS on www.recreation.gov. If anyone knows the answer for certain I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

This thread from last year seemed to indicate they would try and accommodate a valid medical emergency. Not sure if they would consider not being healthy enough in recovery as an emergency, but could be worth talking to them about.

If your injury keeps you from rowing why not find someone that can boat together same boat and take turns or let them row exclusively. Get creative, I'm assuming you could still be on a boat and camp. (if this is more serious my apologies)
