Deso Trip Report
July 30 - August 4
3800 - 3300 cfs
Temps 95 - 60
There was a family filling a trailer with landscape rock on the road about a mile above Sand Wash.
There were mosquitoes at Sand Wash for an hour at sunset.
There was a cow stuck in the mud at Duches Hole. We glimpsed a bear above the camp.
We got munched at Turtle Camp/Mile 76. This was the last of the mosquitoes. There were a few deer flies and gnats the rest of the way.
Above Cedar Ridge was the best swimming hole of the trip.
There was a young black bear at Opposite McPhersons. It loped down the beach parallel to us for about 100 yards. It was our planned campground, but we moved down to Wire Fence.
Three Fords at 3500 is too much fun.
Lots of storms around, but little rain or wind.
At Swasey's, OARS covered two thirds of the boat ramp, and Holiday had the rest. Had to wait about 15 minutes in an eddy before hitting the ramp.
