COLORADO RIVER DISCOVERY (GC Shuttle)

I just tried to book a shuttle with Colorado River Discovery from Lees Ferry to the Glen Canyon dam. Phone is disconnected and the website does not seem to work. I am fearing the worst. Does anyone have information on this company. If they are out of business, anybody know of another shuttle service that will take a raft from the launch at Lees Ferry to the dam. I have used Colorado River Discovery for a few years and they have always been great to work with.

Thanks SKIP

When you say shuttle....do you mean vehicle shuttle or boat shuttle?

I know the contract for boat trips up there changed hands in the last 6 months and it is now owned by Aramark.

There are a few Page locals on here that might be able to help you out. I'll point one of them your way and see if he's interested.

Right Andy? At least the folks who ran the CRD program were humans. ARAMARK (We don't care a mark) is a monster......

The guides who work UNDER Aramark are employed by Wilderness River Adventures. While under the veil of the corporate structure, they actually happen to be seasoned whitewater guides that have the experience required to get paying customers safely down the river.

I can tell you guys did your research and already knew that, but I thought it would be poignant to point out the obvious.

Thank you for this......

I am making an effort to point out that although Aramark is the concessionaire for these river permits, they happen to employ capable guides in the Grand Canyon. They are working on their current and recent acquisition of Colorado River Discovery.

It’s anyone’s best guess who the “guides” will be for that extremely challenging portion of river between the Glen Canyon Dam and Lee’s Ferry, but at any rate I’m trying to allude to the fact that Aramark just owns this shit, and a river unit runs it.

I know it’s confusing.
